⭐️ JOIN OUR COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD
WHRO Public Media is committed to staying connected to the communities we serve across Hampton Roads. Our Community Advisory Board (CAB) plays a vital role in that mission—serving as the station’s eyes and ears in the community and helping ensure our programming and services reflect the voices, needs, and interests of our region ✨
The CAB meets quarterly to share feedback, ideas, and perspectives on WHRO’s content, community initiatives, and outreach efforts. This input helps guide how we serve our audiences and respond to local issues.
We are currently accepting applications for new Community Advisory Board members for the upcoming fiscal year. If you are passionate about public media, community engagement, and local storytelling, we encourage you to apply.
*️⃣ Applications are open through June 1.

🍎 #TeacherAppreciationWeek is from May 4th to 8th, and we want to take a moment to reflect on some of our most impactful teachers!
Teachers do far more than deliver lessons—they inspire, encourage, and shape the future in ways that often reach far beyond the classroom. Their dedication, patience, and belief in their students leave a lasting impact that can change lives.
For WHRO Vice President of News Maurice Jones, one teacher’s support changed everything, and he’s never forgotten it. See a snippet of our chat with Maurice, and visit our YouTube to watch his full interview!
