I come from New England, and moved out to Oklahoma in 2014 and got to see Racism and Hate turned to 11. First time I ever been profiled. This sucks

Waking up to a similar sadness I had in 2016.

After Election night when I lived in Texas I was literally too anxious to step outside my door because I realized for the first time what kind of country I was living in.

I was given this harsh confirmation that the people in this country will gladly vote into power a man that openly spews and empowers hate.

Hate towards the color of my skin. Hate towards my family. Hate towards those I love. Hate towards my neighbors.

And the people in this country, the people outside my door, willingly voted him into power. Nothing that was said or done swayed them away from that decision.

And now we're here all over again.

Seeing willful ignorance and apathy towards who you are as a human highlighted in red on a map is just heartbreaking. It's sobering to the society we live in and have created.

Anyways I try to keep my social media pretty lighthearted so this is the only bummer post I'll make about the whole thing. This just sucks.
