Really honoured to have been invited to speak at this conference alongside some amazing people. I'll be talking about personal resilience in a world of 'bad news'.
This guy gave me the gift of walking again. I was the 26th patient in Australia to undergo his pioneering surgery -osseointegration.
I would not be walking without him and not a day goes by that I am not grateful he is here.
Congrats @drmunjed_ and thank you. #AusoftheYear
I keep going back to look at @RashaAlAqeedi's piece on young men who were killed in Iraq's anti-corruption protests (225 dead this month alone). The photos are heartbreaking. It really hits you when you see their faces. You should see their faces. https://t.co/ifBFFqE2ZM
Throw back to my visit to Karbala Iraq in 2016. Behind me are the shrines of Imam Hussein (as) and his brother and flag bearer Abu Fathal Abbas. I hope to go back soon. 🏴🤚
And although I'm not with the 20 million people marching to his shrine in Karabala, Iraq as we speak, I'm with them in spirit through my mourning of Aba Abdillah. La Bayka Ya Hussein. #Ashura#ImamHussein
Imam Hussein (as) stood up for justice, peace and humanity and was killed because he refused to bow down to tyranny and oppression. His legacy lives on today and inspires millions of Muslims to always stand up for the truth.
