@EllieAsksWhy Interesting. The article lasted only three weeks at that title before being merged into https://t.co/m6Izz0A7Mx Meanwhile, an article has been created on https://t.co/MpQG76LX3H which is now also a candidate for merging.

The War of Images. The German and Hebrew Wikipedias share the dubious distinction of showing no pictures of Palestinian suffering in their articles on the Gaza war. (The Arabic Wikipedia, conversely, shows no pictures of Israeli suffering.)
Osama Khalid, a medical doctor and @Wikipedia administrator, worked to make well-sourced knowledge freely available on the site.
He is currently serving a 32-year prison term on trumped up charges including of “swaying public opinion”.
Saudi authorities must release him now.
🕊️ Ziyad al-Sufiani has been released after over four and a half years of arbitrary imprisonment.
He was an Arabic @Wikipedia administrator, arrested for editing pages like that of Saudi WHRD Loujain al-Hathloul.
His fellow Wikipedian Osama Khalid (see below) remains in prison.

@EllieAsksWhy Thanks, I hadn't seen that one. It mentions the $20M loss that the WMF divulged after enquiries on Jimbo's talk. It was covered in The Signpost at the time.
At some point (last year?) the Endowment funds were moved to a standalone 501(c)3. Tides' next 990 should show details.
@EllieAsksWhy They do have several million dollars in payroll taxes. See page 10, Part IX, line item 10. This is included in line item 15 on the page 1 overview (which sums the amounts in "Part IX, column (A), lines 5-10)". 😉
Wikimedia Foundation asked community to come up with a "movement charter" in order to share money and power more equitably. Volunteers invest literally years of work. Outcome? Wikimedia Foundation decides it didn't really want to share power THAT way. https://t.co/DisH5iwU9L
