Mrs. Bensie's kindergarten music students are learning about found sounds and how just about anything can make music! Students constructed their very own instrument at home and demonstrated it. They had a blast playing together and hearing all of the wonderful sounds! #TCSDProud

As part of Wilcox Reads Week next week, the PTA is collecting items to benefit the Humane Society of Summit County. Students can bring their donation to school or adults can drop them off at the Welcome Center, starting March 7th.

Day 22: Alice Coachman was the first Black woman to win an Olympic a gold medal in high jump. She was named the Coca-Cola spokesperson in 1952, becoming the first African American to obtain an endorsement deal. Fun fact: She was offered a college scholarship at the age of 16!

Day 16: Booker T. Washington founded the Tuskegee Institute (now known as Tuskegee University) in 1881. He was the 1st African American to be invited to the White House, and he authored 5 books. He was considered the most influential and famed African American speaker of his day.
