Leaders, end of year teacher evaluations should be aspirational:
How are you doing?
What do you think we are doing well?
What is an area we can improve?
How can I best support you right?
What professional goals can we help you achieve?
Thank them for their hardwork.
Leaders, if you arenโt vested in staff morale, you arenโt vested in school culture.
* Empower teachers w/ voice/ input
* Trust them as professionals
* Treat everyone as individuals
* Respect their time
* Show them you care personal/professional
* Celebrate all successes
Teachers are some of the most well trained, college educated, credentialed professionals and when they are treated as such, it creates a thriving dynamic school culture.
@SheReports I have researched this and the cost is daunting and my loans are scary now. I hate to add to them. I wish you luck if you decide to go for it!!! I do know people that have talked about how grueling it is.
I've gone mad! I'm working on this one to be used in present mode. Each drawer opens and closes on click, inside each drawer there are 4 file folders, each one opens on click and once opened, you can click on it to see the file in it. ๐ฑ๐ Maybe for HS? Or PDs?
My teaching gig (HS Geometry) for next year is on the line to see how state budget goes... how about we save money on all the state tests and cancel them again and make sure teachers don't lose their jobs. #rant
I just emailed a principal and congratulated her on the phenomenal academic achievement recently experienced at her school. This was her response:
โThank you!! The gains are due to my amazing teachers! They are the heroes!!โ
That, my friends... is leadership.
