Chesty Puller is the Veteran I want to honor today. He is the most decorated Marine in USMC history. His legendary status makes him the Marine of all Marines.

Today’s Veteran that I want to honor was a local man from St. Clairsville Ohio, Sylvester Antolak. This WWII hero was awarded The Medal of Honor posthumously for his actions outside of Anzio as his unit made their push to Rome. Netflix series Medal of Honor has his story.

Today’s Vetran I want to honor is Dudley “Mush” Morton. He revolutionized submarine warfare during WWII at a time when they were basically just used as scouts and defense. He took the fight to the Japanese and absolutely raised havoc on their supply lines and ships.

Today’s Veteran I want to honor is Richard Marcinko. This Navy Seal cut his teeth during the Vietnam war. He started and commanded Seal Team Six. His book Rogue Warrior is a great read. He was a controversial figure no doubt, but still one hell of a warrior.

Today’s Veteran I want to honor is John Clem. He ran away from home at the age of nine here in Newark where I work. He hopped on a train to go fight in the Cival War. He became a drummer boy with the 22 Michigan. He retired from the Army in 1915 as a Brigadier General. Google him
