With every new beginning, there’s great anticipation, hopes and wonders. On Monday, September 11 we will be holding our Back to School Night, in person from 5:00 - 7:00, when our teachers will be detailing the exciting upcoming year of your child.
Reminder: welcome back student drop-in: Tuesday, August 29th from 2:00 -3:00. For those who want to volunteer at Willard, CORI forms will be available to complete and submit. There will be a table set up outside the main office. We're looking forward to seeing everyone!
Willard's 2023 Friendship Day is joyously being celebrated today. Staff and students are wearing their friendship hats and looking forward to singing along with the grade 4 and 5 school chorus at our all-school meeting.
Spring forward into math! Tonight is Willard's Annual Family Math Night. Come one, come all to enjoy games, demonstrations, lectures and more. Fun for the whole family. Thank you PTG for organizing such a wonderful celebration of learning. #mathisfun
Celebrating learning and community. Last weekend our families gathered for the annual Willard International Festival- a celebration of different foods, displays and performances. We are fortunate to have so many talented members in our Willard community. Thank you PTG!
Thank you to Andrew Nyamekye, Concord's DEIB Director, for being the guest reader in our kindergarten classes. The students enjoyed your reading of Kamala and Maya's Big Idea. What a powerful story of the ability of kids to persevere and inspire change.
Happy 100th day of the school year. Captain Zero paid a visit to Willard to celebrate the significance of zero to the understanding of math - it's an important placeholder digit in our number system and it's a useful number in its own right.
Principal of the Day is one of my favorite days of the year. As the lesson of Wally Pipp underscores, you can never take a day off when talent like this is waiting in the wings!
The Charity & Service Committee would like to thank the Willard community for all your donations to the 5th Grade Food Drive! Our goal was 150 decorated and filled snack bags, and we delivered 250 bags to Open Table! Wishing Willard School families a happy & healthy Thanksgiving!
Today Willard kicked off our composting of food waste from the dining hall. Thanks to our partners at Black Earth Composting and the students, staff and especially parent volunteers that collaborated on this wonderful achievement.
No school for students tomorrow (11/10) - teacher conferences instead. While at the school to get an update on your child's progress, take a moment to look through the lost & found in the front lobby. Thanks to the industrious parents, students & staff who organized the apparel.
Louisa May Alcott - or someone who knew a lot about her - joined our 2nd graders today to preview their visit next week to the Alcott's Orchard House. We're grateful to Ms Alcott for her visit. Concord is such a wonderfully historic community in which to learn. @LouisaMayAlcott
