From Katerina Siniakova’s dozen slam quest to a British 4-peat watch on the men’s side, here’s a quick primer on all the latest #Wimbledon doubles action ⬇️
(7)Arevalo-Pavic fight off Rojer-Winegar 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 to advance to their 3rd straight #Wimbledon QF. Nice moment after between Arevalo & Rojer who were regular partners in 2022 & 2023, winning the French Open in 2022 #WatchMoreDOUBLES
Court 3 was still ticketed yesterday and today, despite only having doubles, and yet it's fully packed both days
Tickets are £70, 2000 seats, IIRC it's half GA/half reserved, so that's £140,000 of revenue from doubles only tickets before even considering ground passes
Krajicek-Mektic FINALLY getting the close wins. I kept harping on it in the preview that they felt overdue for getting on the right side of these scorelines
Winning a 3rd set TB R2: 12-10 ✅️
Notching a top 3 W vs Bolelli-Vavassori in 3 sets✅️

From alternates to quarterfinalists💥
The “New Special K” Kokkinakis-Kovacevic take out AO champs and No. 5 Neal Skupski/Christian Harrison 7-6, 7-6.
They’re now only 3 wins away from a #Wimbledon doubles title.
Massive doubles win for Gugu Olmos and Ingrid Neel 🔥
They edge one of the most in-form teams of 2026, No. 3 Danilina/Krunic, in a 3-set thriller to make their first #Wimbledon quarterfinal.
@_markpetchey@AllenMcDuffee Ohhhhh I'm good with no sit-downs. I thought you meant playing sets to 4 or something like that.
I just disagree when people say they need to get rid of 1st serves, or start the SP behind the service line, or switch to fast 4 sets.
Although I like fast 4 sets BO5 :)
Wrote this about a doubles pair recently but it goes into this issue of promotion and the inability that teams & players have: 'More than thirst traps: The French pair fighting for doubles attention' https://t.co/v7h7FuQUjc
I was going to say what I thought of @ATPTour's plans to mess with the doubles - halve the 32 draws at 1000 events and syphon off up to 20% prize money to millionaire singles players but @AlysonRudd in the The London SundayTimes did it for me. Of the planned changes she writes "This is staggeringly insulting to a sport that has brought such joy..and what is a governing body doing murdering its own? It is ridiculous that the ATP neglects dobles & then blames it for not being popular. ...It should be bolstering its commitment, singing its praises & most definitely not pruning it out of existence."
@_markpetchey@AllenMcDuffee So if the Williams sisters played doubles yesterday it wouldn't have worked for TV? People wouldn't have watched?
The product works for tv now. You just need stars playing. Stars are single players right now. Market doubles. Create stars. Slowly increase tv exposure.
