@itsbewildered@ReedTimmerUSA They get lofted to possibly over 30,000 feet. And moisture will cling to them and freeze like hail. This kills the battery and also any ice accumulation on the antennas have a heavy affect on its ability to get data out.
@clarencewlsmith@ReedTimmerUSA@localmanweather They should be, however it’s possible some telemetry was dropped. If we can recover the sensor we will get more data at a higher resolution.
We are also revamping the analytics in the site to make it make more sense.
We successfully launched a sensor into a tornado with good data back! Here is the first drop of the 3D data!!!!
Check out more of our science data on https://t.co/IeUwmIF0hf (we are working on better analytics for the site.)

Fun moment during yesterdays chase, caught @ReedTimmerUSA and the dom crew attempting to deploy a parachute probe in a tornado near Cottage Hill, KS yesterday.
@AshtonHenryWX I have met that guy. I actually have a couple sirens from him. He is pretty cool but just FYI he has lots of cameras lol.
He rebuilds and installs them.
@OTFAnonymous@localmanweather@WhelenEng@ReedTimmerUSA I designed a special converter that takes the line output from the mixer and converts it to a format that is acceptable and safe for the speaker itself. I after analyzing the DVM messages this audio is being passed with the same safeguards and formatting as the original DVM.
