The 489m Par 5 10th is a masterclass in strategy—rewarding precision and boldness, but punishing misdirected tee shots. When played well, it’s a rewarding three-shot par 5; when out of position off the tee, par can be a stern test and bogey, an acceptable result for most.
The heathland that borders our routing is a distinctive feature of Commonwealth. They shape play, punishing wayward shots while still allowing recovery options. As spring arrives, wildflowers begin to bloom, adding colour and texture to the roughs and surrounds.
The “tilt”. Described by Brian Slawnik from Renaissance Golf Design as the “greatest strength of our greens”, it's ever-so-present on the 17th Hole where an approach from the best side of the fairway is a must.

@TalkBirdie_ToMe@MarkAllenGolf Reducing driver head size for the pro’s would be such a simpler and more straightforward change to achieve the same outcome of reduced distance off the tee than re-engineering the golf ball
Introducing our new caddie logo.
A nod to the traditions of this great game, it's inspired by the caddie in the stained glass window in our clubhouse, installed in 1929. Featured across a range of merchandise, the Commonwealth Caddie can now be appreciated in glass and beyond
Our par-4, 1st hole may look short and sweet—but with its rolling fairway and a green that slopes sharply from front to back, it takes no prisoners when it comes to punishing the imprecise.

I got to have some preview play @7milegolf last week.
The past week I’ve been digesting it, and wrote down my thoughts. More for myself as a time capsule, but thought to share with others who are interested in this project down here in Tassie.
