LOATHSOME JONES | I had the dubious pleasure of sitting down with Owen from the Guardian for two hours and I told him he was a big part of Labour’s problem because he, and people like him, have blaggarded the British working class. #MOATS#OwenJones@RTUKNews
Fancy watching me and Lord Adonis debate the future of the Labour party and the whole business of Brexit? First item up on this week's Spectator TV. ⬇️ https://t.co/rrKunnHiDV
Lisa & Paul on #QuestionTime are illustrating exactly what Labour's problems are now. Defensive, whiny, accusatory (racist BXP etc) & refusing - point blank - to show ANY humility, or accept any criticism. Well done audience for hammering them & @MichelleDewbs for talking sense.
"Angela Rayner – like me – is a northern, w.c. lass with ginger hair and a bit of a gob on her. According to the identitarian left, she should be my kind of politician". Brilliant from @MoLovatt on how such "patronising twaddle" will lose its core voters https://t.co/H3Dz7qzEiI
Government playing an interventionist role in the economy, such as through state aid - or total faith in market-driven outcomes? Pick a side. If you purport to be on the Left, you should be telling the government to dig in. https://t.co/pOaEEkdzE5
Not sure how fanatical anti-Brexiteers can keep a straight face when simultaneously arguing that Brexit will bring the UK no economic advantages at all but the EU is right to insist on a level playing field to prevent the UK gaining a competitive advantage from Brexit.
So when it suits the Irish Government it is OK to have border checks. Just shows the hysteria over a so called ‘hard border’ was a deliberate EU/Irish ploy with NOTHING to do with protecting the Belfast(GFA)agreement @DavidGHFrost
'I find it very hypocritical that a lot of people don't have a problem with music that talks about stabbing but this song is an issue of censorship.'
@InayaFolarin says removing these songs doesn't help ethnic minorities at all and is an 'opportunistic endeavour.'
Clearly you haven’t read the report and just let your obsession about losing the Brexit vote influence your thought process. Has it never occurred to you that the majority who voted to Leave were perfectly able to make up their own minds ?
God, that performance was just awful. Self-important and pompous. I didn’t always think this, but now I feel a resignation is the only thing that will fix things and restore public trust. Beth Rigby must go.
Labour has just elected as leader a knighted lawyer from north London who was the driving force behind the party’s fatal second referendum policy and is steeped in the values of globalist liberal cosmopolitanism that were roundly rejected at the last election.
I wish him well.
Labour don't know what's coming, no matter who wins. Left and Right are changing form within Capital, and under the malaise of moral virtuosity, the Labour Party are blind to this changing form. They will find themselves representing ideas rather than people.
Taxi driver in Luton (usually votes Labour):
"As long as Boris does Brexit, doesn't do anything 'funny' with the NHS, and is tough with criminals and terrorists, I might start liking the Tories"
Wonder how many traditional Labour voters, across the UK, are in a similar space?
Easy to criticise #STOLEN
Reads like a dissertation, sparse, merges into a Corbyn manifesto in last 1/4.
Not perfect.
But its a great piece of modern Marxism
@graceblakeley uses dialectic method well.
Light to its credit, this is a practical Marxist thesis within democracy
