@michellTilling @OPGGovUK After submitting your deputyship application the court should have issued the application giving you a reference number. You can ring the court on 0300 456 4600 and ask for an update. If there’s an urgent need for a decision then you can complete a COP9 form and sent to court

@MartinSLewis Worth a mention that if it’s too late to arrange a LPA because of loss of capacity, then it’s the deputyship route through the Court of Protection. Plenty of free guidance online but it can be a long and costly process. If it’s a complicated estate then speak to a solicitor ⚖️

@MoneySavingExp Court of Protection solicitor here 👋. You can complete the application yourself but for larger estates, a risk of family members disagreeing, or you need to sell jointly owned property, then it’s probably worth speaking to a solicitor. Timescales looking at 6m+ unless urgent

"In the year to 22/04 we supported 1,862 people with 3-day emergency food parcels, a 100% increase over the pre-pandemic numbers in the same period.

"Of those people, 720 were children. The number of children supported has increased 170%"
