When I read the US-Iran memorandum, I literally gasped with surprise.

To Trump, the words on the Strait of Hormuz meant Iran was opening it. To the Iranians, they meant they were in charge of it.

If his mission is decentralisation, he should add two more: financial discipline and adaptation to new technology.

The real question is whether he can avoid the same fiscal and political doom loop that defeated Keir Starmer.

Taking power may now be his fate. The next fate is never far behind.

Freedom of speech is a fundamental academic freedom and it must be upheld. Equally, legitimate and lawful protest has an important place in university life. The task is to maintain both.

Especially at events open to the public like this, it is an important Oxford tradition that any disagreement is expressed in a civil and respectful way.
