I passed $10,000 in Etsy revenue in 11 months, with a 17% profit margin.

It pays for a plane ticket. 228 orders. 15,200 visits. 1.5% conversion rate.

I put about 100 hours total into the project, and I’ve barely touched the shop since February.

My manufacturer produces and ships directly to the customer. At this point, I spend about 1 hour a month on it.

Here's a few things I learned :

- An Etsy shop can become almost passive after the initial work.
- The 80/20 rule is very real. A small number of products drive most of the revenue.
- Low-margin products get eaten alive by fees.
- Relying on #etsy for traffic is convenient, but risky.
- Content doesn’t need to be complicated. I found formats that worked and created variations.

I’ll let the shop running, but I won’t put more time into it.

It was a great way to learn #ecom, but the model doesn’t interest me long term.If I did it again, I’d pick a high product, build my site, and create an email list.

Etsy owns the traffic. Building an audience you can reach directly is much more valuable.

Ask for mobile, SEO/GEO, CRO, speed, accessibility, Lucide icons, light animations + full QA.

Then optimize your Google Business Profile, link the site + socials, and keep your NAP info consistent everywhere.

You can build a solid small business website for ~$15/year.

Buy a domain on Namecheap, host free on Cloudflare Pages, then use Codex to build it. Give it your business info, logo, photos + sites you like.
