The Red Sox are calling up Connelly Early to start in place of Dustin May tonight, per multiple reports.

Early is Boston's 6th ranked prospect on @MLBPipeline and has posted a 2.60 ERA in 100.1 IP in the minor leagues this season

The 22-year-old righty featured a five-pitch mix (FF, FC, SL, CU, CH). His fastball had good velocity, averaging about 93 MPH and topping out at 95.5 MPH

Another Red Sox promotion:

LHP Connelly Early has been promoted to Double-A Portland.

Early has a 3.72 ERA with 90 strikeouts over 67.2 innings for the Greenville Drive.

Portland now adds two more arms. Busy last couple of days for the organization.
