China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPP), a subsidiary of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) is the EPC contractor for Ntorya Madimba Pipeline.
China is covering more ground in the East African Oil & Gas market.
#AEX ARA petroleum did a mini-CPR providing TPDC with confidence on the gas reserves (about 3 TCF unaudited contingent), justifying the 30km pipeline project from Ntorya to Madimba processing plant. The tendering was restricted and TPDC is about to announce the EPC contractor.
TPDC had launched the second exploration phase of the EyasiWembere block in search of oil reserves & reservoir.
Phase II of the project focuses on the acquisition of 2D seismic data around Lake Eyasi, a total of 914 km of seismic lines to be covered in the survey. #HereWeGo
MS-2 is almost complete with well test being expected to be carried out around early May. Could be done by mid may and demob/mob to Kasa.
At this rate, spud for CH-1 could be around July (at best).
MB-5 well drilling was achieved in under 50 days.
MB-5 now produces around 40MMscfd and has been online since end of March 2026.
This single well makes Mnazibay's production tally to ~ 130MMscfd with MS-2 and Kasa-1X to follow in line.
The chinese rig is powerful!!
@PrimroseCap It's definitely a complicated well (directional drilling likely to come in play). I don't know how long the MD of the well trajectory will be. But they'll surely spend a good amount of time on this one.
Fascinating find, @WilsonMakembe! We produced an article about the "Flying Pipeline" and a few other oil transportation options considered along with the pipeline for our 45th anniversary storytelling. Check it out: https://t.co/Nmez0xoFdt
Before the feasibility of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline was certain, Boeing had a proposal to fly the oil out, making them the operators of "The First Flying Pipeline".
The project was formally proposed and confirmed in 1968, after the major oil discovery at Prudhoe Bay.
With a price tag of $ 8 billion, the pipeline began its construction in 1974 completed in 1977, and has been in operation ever since.
Since its commissioning in 1977, the line has transported over 18 billion barrels of oil, playing a crucial role in U.S. energy production.
Route selection and technical assessments followed shortly after in the same year, with more detailed works, including engineering studies, geotech investigations, and other regulatory aspects, progressing in early 1969.
PanAfrican Energy (T) Limited, a subsidiary of Orca Energy Group, one of the key players in Tanzania's natural gas sector. They are known for being the country's first natural gas producer.
@AminXunofficial@EdgarTwo2@cperkin99 From a timeline perspective could be somewhere in Q3 heading to Q4. However, nothing has been made official, so this is a best guess given how long the first well on M&P's field took.
@PrimroseCap Tbh it's the first time I'm hearing of them. I wonder who among the two has experience in operating a gas field, which will matter in the long term, and the field development plan (FDP).
