Progress on future homestead site is actually moving along now, so this'll be the start of a thread I'll update as we go. Reminder, this is what we started with two years ago. Our future driveway, an old overgrown logging road. We thought we'd be doing it all by hand. 😫🤪☠️ 1/?

@Septembers_Song Sorry I've disappeared, but to be honest I'm just not interested in being on social media these days. I'm busy enjoying being a Mom and building my little farm, and social media is too much of a distraction sometimes.

@Septembers_Song River and Karina are doing well. River just had first illness ever. Still don't know what, only obvious symptom being a high fever, but went through a whole thing because covid (negative). Back on healthy track now though 👍
Karina still loves sitting in my lap on snowy days 🥰

@Septembers_Song Sorry I didn't respond sooner, but everything's been fine. Some crazy weather, have had a lot of trees blown down, but thankfully not as bad as feared. Hope things are well in your area!

@Septembers_Song I don't want to curse us, but so far it's been pretty tame here. A knocked over chair, some very wet chickens, couple power flickers....🤞😅

@Septembers_Song Last few years we've had dry summers, then sudden dumps of rain early fall. The large pines' roots are loose from the soil being so dry, then everything soaks to mud, and winds knock em down, roots in tact. Had two giant pines fall on the utility lines last weekend. It's sad.

@Septembers_Song 🤔 Not sure how Seattle has stayed green in this warm, dry summer. Maples started fall colors weeks ago here. Strange. City sprinklers keeping them greener? Spoke to many here on the island who're concerned about how the drier climate will affect our forests here ☹️

@Septembers_Song 🙋‍♀️ We're having a stormy day with trees falling and birds blowing around 😅 but otherwise everything's great here. River just celebrated 1st birthday, which is crazy. Here's the birds mostly huddling near the fence so they don't blow away! 🤭 Hope you're well!
