Sessions will run 10:30-12 and 2-3:30. Booking is not required but numbers are limited, and it’s first come first served. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Romans Are Coming!

Join us on Wednesday 31st May as we explore what life was really like for the Romans in Wales and the people they conquered: the bad, the cruel and the downright disgusting!

Using costumes, role play and crafts, we’ll discover how the Romans dealt with the dirtiest fighters in iron-age Britain, and what they left behind.

This FREE workshop is suitable for families with children under 12, but all are welcome to join.

The Winding House history museum, built on the site of the former Elliot Colliery, is home to a coffee & gift shop, and fascinating exhibition of local history. It's original Victorian winding engine can also be seen in operation on event days.
