@Rev_ADB “Imprisoning War” is never actually said in any Zelda game prior to TotK. It’s only been manuals and lore books that refer to it. So… in terms of in-game lore, there’s actually no retcon whatsoever.
@SWT_Channel Nah. He gives a great performance consistently through the prequels and Rise of Skywalker.
The writing for him is the best in Return of the Jedi. True. But he’s always given a peak performance with what the script provides him.
@BuudhistPastor@Rev_ADB Fair enough, but you were using it against TotK until you saw ALBW also contradicts it.
TotK & ALBW are both Zelda games. It would be a choice to hold one over the other for the lore.
@BuudhistPastor@Rev_ADB Meanwhile, Ganon has a vast history in Hyrule that can be recalled up to OoT. There is no direct tie to the Imprisoning War Demon King until that connection is made during the modern day events.
@BuudhistPastor@Rev_ADB There is no Ganondorf, Ganon, or Gerudo connection to the Demon King from the Imprisoning War in the present day until the past story is revealed (and the Mummy introduces himself later on). “Only ever referred to as the Demon King” is what he is recalled as prior to TotK.
@BuudhistPastor@Rev_ADB My rule is “in game info comes first”. However, that’s also with the understanding that references to other Zelda games come in the form of legends and tall tales with questionable accuracy. Lore book stuff is secondary and can be used for some obscure areas not covered.
@BuudhistPastor@Rev_ADB That’s basically my take as well. Hence why I don’t understand why you attempt to use HH against TotK in instances.
That’s you placing it in higher regard than an actual Zelda game.
@BuudhistPastor@Rev_ADB Kohga says “Demon King” as he was remembered in history, like Zelda states.
Never Ganondorf or anything else. He also learns of things from Mineru’s journal in the depths, not the passage of time.
@BuudhistPastor@Rev_ADB The content in the lore books is also from them, hence Aonuma even references things from the books in interviews. It’s not Nintendo telling Ambit “Do whatever you want, we don’t care”
But I’ll ask, do you hold that position? That the lore from any of the books can’t be trusted?
@BuudhistPastor@Rev_ADB Yeah and you’ve failed at doing so. But also, doesn’t Nintendo need to hire web designers? By your own logic, maybe it’s the web designers’ timeline and lore… the same way Nintendo had to hire a company to help them put a book together. Don’t cherry pick.
@BuudhistPastor@Rev_ADB Then why do you source their books, including within this convo? And btw, it’s not Ambit making things up on the fly. They have no influence on lore. Encyclopedia was written by the dream magazine where they note that book does have some of their own personal interpretations.
@BuudhistPastor@Rev_ADB And btw, TotK intro would already imply TotK Ganon was erased from knowledge. Zelda states the war was against “someone only ever referred to as the demon king”.
@BuudhistPastor@Rev_ADB Dude, it’s at odds with YOUR head canon. You have personally decided that all past OoT Ganon references have turned into TotK Ganon references. That’s a you issue.
“Third party” … and which third party would that be? That’s funny coming from you when you cite encyclopedia.
@BuudhistPastor@Rev_ADB According to you: “I can feel your light power within her, as well as my time power. AND NOTHING ELSE EVER!!!”
There’s also this I’m fairly certain I’ve posted before:
@BuudhistPastor@Rev_ADB Show me where in my previous statement I claimed “Hylia ONLY has time powers and nothing else”… Did she or did she not create the gates of time and could foresee through time?
Masterworks says Sonia’s bloodline holds sacred power.
