@ContraPoints Every time this argument comes up, I think it's important to point out that people did (Pokémon) go to the polls. She *won the popular vote*. The fact that she lost because a few thousand didn't in a few key states reflects her poor campaigning and that our system is undemocratic
@UnionDrip We can automate berating golf caddies (with or without incoherent, irrelevant, racist rambling), but we just aren't there with actually throwing golf clubs at them.
The most striking thing to me about the Court is not only that they ignore public opinion, but they hold it is open disdain. If Americans have any belief left in Democracy, in governance by and for the people, the court simply cannot be considered legitimate.
Someone tell me what the point is of $10k in student debt relief? Average debt is $30k, those few who 10k'd help probably didn't need much help anyway, and it won't help Joe/Dems politically: no one's gonna care that their payments are barely less when they've been 0 for 2 years.
Since 1988, Republicans have won the popular vote exactly one time, but have selected 6 of the last 9 SCOTUS Justices.
Expand the court or an antidemocratic minority will continue to control our laws & our bodies.
