@duecey_tommy @xxChessMaster Qxb3 works because it removes the attacking pawn. RxN+ then simply Ka2. No more checks and Rook has to return to 8th rank. From there, some very basic queen manoeuvring will allow anyone over 500 to checkmate with ease.

Once you look at it like that, I find it's a little easier to understand.

Expedition 33 and Dispatch are mid-sized studios (of 10+ people) with veteran talents from massive studios (From TellTale to Ubisot) -- @geoffkeighley if you accept @MegabonkGame 's resignation, it should open discussion with revamping the whole list

@common_north @PeterP_1985 Exactly. Baldur's Gate 3 is also a renowned IP, from a renowned studio that perfected its formula in D:OS 2. They're also much closer to SRPGs, with positioning and environment, as opposed to the traditional turn-based system. E:33 is a raw, linear turn-based RPG.

@PyDuK_UA @conne_psd @MegabonkGame You're not wrong, but Dispatch also maintains AAA talent in Aaron Paul, and the fact it was saved by Critical Role, who make $9 million a year on Twitch alone, and that doesn't account for YT, or Prime.

It's not "indie" in the same vein as Despelote, Blue Prince, or even Stardew

@conne_psd @MegabonkGame Hey, E33 deserves a spot in the GOTY running other categories, but:
- They were published by a studio that in 2023 raised $120 million from NetEase
- Has a AAA actor in Andy Serkis
- Estimated budget on its own of $35 million

It's a lion playing with cats in the Indie category

@conne_psd @MegabonkGame It's disheartening, because the addition of Dispatch and E33 takes away the opportunity for actual Indie (you know the one: small or solo team, fueled on cigarettes, caffeine and dreams) titles with miniscule budgets of less than a million USD to be showcased.
