Late October 1976.

Just over two months earlier, the Korean Demilitarized Zone had become the site of one of the Cold War’s most dangerous flashpoints.

On August 18, U.S. Army officers Captain Arthur Bonifas and First Lieutenant Mark Barrett were killed by North Korean soldiers while trimming a poplar tree in the Joint Security Area.

The incident, now known as the Axe Murder Incident, brought the U.S. and North Korea to the brink of open conflict.

In response, the U.S. launched Operation Paul Bunyan, a massive show of force involving hundreds of troops, engineers, helicopters, fighter jets, and strategic bombers, simply to cut down the tree.

At the same time, U.S. and South Korean forces were confronting another growing concern: North Korean infiltration tunnels beneath the DMZ. Two tunnels had already been discovered in 1974 and 1975, and military planners believed others likely remained hidden.

It was against this backdrop that Ingo conducted a series of remote viewing sessions in late October of 1976, targeting multiple locations within the central Korean DMZ.

The coordinates from these original session sheets cluster in a rugged, mountainous corridor of the DMZ, suggesting a systematic examination of the region rather than isolated targets.

It is a peek at one of the Cold War’s most intriguing and least understood chapters.

Ingo Swann was at the center of those early SRI experiments that eventually fed into the Stargate program. The 1970s work with Hal Puthoff and Russell Targ produced results that even the intelligence community couldn’t ignore.

Remembering Major Ed Dames (1949–2026)

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Major Edward A. Dames.

Ed was one of the early U.S. Army intelligence officers personally trained by Ingo in the pioneering days of Controlled Remote Viewing.

He went on to serve in the military’s remote viewing program and later became a well-known teacher and advocate for structured remote viewing methods, helping introduce these techniques to a wider audience.

Ingo held great respect for the dedicated military professionals he worked with during that groundbreaking period.

Ed was part of that small, elite group who helped lay important foundations in the field.

Our thoughts are with Ed’s family, friends, and the entire remote viewing community during this time.

Rest in peace, Major Dames. Thank you for your service and for carrying the work forward.

Fascinating Sheehan clip on the alleged October 1977 meeting with a "chief guardian" showing him classified Stargate files, including Ingo Swann reports (calling him a "high-level clear") plus Pat Price details.

Timeline note: The FBI had raided the Guardian's Office on July 8, 1977 (largest raid in FBI history at the time) and the office was already in full crisis mode under intense federal scrutiny. The meeting came months later.

Yet here's what literally no one today is doing: comparing anything in Scientology (auditing, TRs, engrams, or Hubbard’s processes) to the actual remote viewing protocols used at SRI or Ingo’s later CRV stages (1980s). They don’t match.

Example: Pat Price’s 1974 URDF-3 experiment. After Day 1, Hal Puthoff called him at 5:25 p.m. and specifically told him to focus on the gantry crane + its relationship to Building 1. Price's one clear "hit" (the crane sketch) came the next day. Official CIA conclusion? The whole experiment was unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, the very first, and only, U.S. military remote viewing program at the time, Gondola Wish (1977), contracted the Monroe Institute for altered-states / out-of-body training. Nothing to do with Scientology.

Ingo's approach was independent consciousness research, no doctrine attached.

Why has no one published a real side-by-side protocol breakdown? That's the conversation worth having.

And that big discovery is that we're being watched very carefully to see what we do with it... This is pretty noteworthy given McMoneagle's credentials and reputation. Something to chew on, especially the last part given world events lately. Reminds me of something Einstein once said. And it's Easter next week, UFO fam.
