For context, the Soviet ANNEXATION of the Baltic states resulted in them being granted full rights as union republics, no different from, for instance, the Russian SFSR.
DSA, on the contrary, is not a vanguard in any sense. It is barely able to be distinct from the Democrats, and even then has not fully separated from them.
DSA is incapable of waging revolutionary struggle.
Proof: As a member of DSA, I was never once asked about my beliefs or aptitudes before joining. So long as I was not an obvious fascist and paid my dues, I was fine!
A true revolutionary struggle must be waged by a Bolshevist party which maintains strict recruitment policies to only get the best of the working class. This party must operate with almost military discipline.

@apostrophebeats The strategy has failed to gain much ground outside of 1940s China and arguably Nepal. *Protracted* people's war goes against the very essence of a revolution because it is inherently a qualitative change — sudden, abrupt, etc. PPW treats revolution as a quantitative process.
