Congratulations to @UG_Airlines Ugandan Airlines ✈️ 🇺🇬
Today, marked another important milestone in the advancement of intra-African Aviation, Tourism, Trade and Economic integration, as Uganda Airlines officially inaugurates its scheduled commercial service connecting Entebbe, Uganda, and Accra, Ghana, via Lagos, Nigeria.
Uganda Airlines becomes the fourth East African carrier serving Ghana’s capital, joining Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways and Air Tanzania.
This represents the opening of another gateway of opportunity, the strengthening of bilateral relations between Ghana and Uganda, and a practical demonstration of Africa’s determination to connect its people, economies, cultures and destinations.
I commend the Government of H.E President John Dramani Mahama and the Government of the Republic of Uganda for supporting an enabling environment for stronger bilateral aviation relations and economic cooperation.
Uganda, also known as the Pearl of Africa, offers exceptional tourism experiences, including mountain gorilla trekking, wildlife safaris, breathtaking landscapes, Lake Victoria, the source of the Nile, rich cultural traditions and adventure tourism.
Ghana, on the other hand, offers a compelling blend of history, heritage, culture, festivals, hospitality, gastronomy, creative arts, nightlife and business tourism.
From Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle to the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Kakum National Park, Mole National Park, Wli waterfalls , Keta and Axim beaches ,Saltpond beach , Assin Manso Slave River, Ashanti cultural heritage , our vibrant festivals, Ghana has a lot of tourism story to share with East Africa.
Imagine more Ugandans visiting Ghana to experience our heritage tourism, December festivities, cultural celebrations and our Culture.
Imagine more Ghanaians travelling to Uganda for wildlife safaris, gorilla trekking, conferences, adventure and leisure.
Imagine Ghanaian and Ugandan tour operators developing joint holiday packages that allow visitors to experience West and East Africa within one itinerary.
This is the future we must deliberately build.
