We are two English teachers sharing literacy and ed tech resources for our fellow educators to enhance the reading and writing experiences for all students.
@MarieLeveyPabst Employ literacy coaches in high school, which is needed to support all content trained teachers who are do not have a literacy background. Have a solution or actually ask a high school teacher his or her perspective of this issue before posting a broad stroke.
@CKingTeacher @NBCNews Headlines are being used as click bait now. Most read them and they are off text and posting and on and on and on....no critical thinking skills anymore.
@booktoss @caitteach Not all Canon is homophobic, racist, and sexist. Even if these things are in the book, don’t you think it allows for great discussion around these issues?
Surround yourself with the people that lift you up and make you better! So honored to share the stage with Pedro Noguera at the International Literacy Conference! Much Aroha! Kia Kaha brother!
Students completing a reading diagnostic- others choosing and reading choice novels. Preparing to teach the close reading method. Learning their reading levels by comparing map scores to several short reading diagnostic assessments. I will use leveled groups in “you do together.”
@chslitscholars So excited for you and your students!! The impact that you will have on the academic lives of your students will have long lasting effects. #fantasticreadingteachers#reachingallstudentsneeds
Education Week. #internet#edtech So many students do not have access to wireless internet. In today’s world this is like not having a tv or a telephone. Telecommunication companies need to step up and provide this service to all areas! https://t.co/sh9JQ4Kd42
Close reading attendees: once you give the 4 cycle instruction (Gradual Release of Responsibility) here is a resource for longer texts on all subjects https://t.co/qTT9LptG58
