@BowTiedYanqui @BowTiedMara Needing to pay the full employer and employee part of social security when self employed isn't unique to the US, you do the same in UK and Germany and other Western nations, also you don't get doubled taxed in that way cause you get a cert of coverage from the country you live in

@BowTiedYanqui If you're able to work a remote job it's absolutely worth it to move somewhere cheaper, doesn't even need to be outside of the west either, just move to the countryside outside of the city and your bills will plummet, plus not needing to spend on transport saves even more
