We were delighted to welcome Year 9 students from Chesterton Sports College to WJ last week, giving them a first-hand insight into the innovation, skills and career opportunities within the road marking sector.
Not a bad office for the teams last week in the sunshine.
Fantastic views during recent surface dressing works in the Peak District for @Derbyshirecc.
Great snaps by WJ Operative, Callum Robertson 📸
WJ are again at the @LCRIGnetwork Innovation & Learning Festival!
Come and see our team at Indoor Stand 23 and Outdoor Stand 14 to find out more about our latest innovations, services and solutions.
📍 Stoneleigh, Warwickshire
📅 24–25 June 2026
A combination of our temporary road marking specialists from our Knutton depot and our South West teams have recently been working together to remove a temporary traffic management scheme and switch over to permanent road markings on behalf of @NationalHways Area 2 Team
We’re proud to have supported Hills Café in Micklefield, High Wycombe as part of our Thinking Community Initiative.
It was great to play a small part in supporting a place that means so much to the people who use it.

How to solve bitumen bleed
Bitumen bleed happens when the road surface has too much binder and not enough texture.
Hydro retexturing helps by carefully removing the excess bitumen from the surface, allowing the aggregate underneath to do its job again.
📍 Falmouth, Cornwall
At a recent project in Falmouth, we caught up with Viv Bidgood, Highways Manager at Cornwall Highways, to hear about his experience of this combined approach and how it has been received by road users.

Through WJ’s joint venture with ACB in Belgium, the ACBWJ team has been out on the road completing product trials in Belgium and France.
Great work from everyone involved across WJ and ACB, and some brilliant shots from Craig Murthick capturing the team in action 📸
Bitumen bleed is becoming a growing challenge for highway networks as temperatures rise.
When excess binder rises to the surface, it can reduce texture depth, compromise skid resistance, and limit future surface treatment options.
Excellent work by the team on the M9 refresh scheme for @BEAR_Scotland
.
As part of our works, we renewed 67.7km of road markings and studs, helping improve visibility and create safer journeys.
Big thanks to WJ operative, Sean Cairns for the great photo 📸
Using flowable repair materials means potholes can be filled quickly, with far less plant on site than traditional repair methods - reducing repeat visits and helping to minimise disruption for the travelling public.
Rainier days on the A50 this week, but WJ’s new Jet Dryer has been helping keep our captive shot lorries in action.
Brilliant shots captured by our machine operator, Ben Welton! 📸
Viv Bidgood, Highways Manager at @Cornwall Council, explains how combining safety defect repairs with road marking maintenance is helping to create a more efficient approach to highways maintenance.
A great shot from Jordan Lowe, travelling from our Airdrie yard up to Inverness for a job, with Ballachulish Bridge in the background just past Fort William.
Allux studs are designed for exceptional reflectivity while minimising carriageway disturbance during installation. For concrete carriageways, they provide an ideal solution.
Check out our Allux studs being installed on the A52 at Bottesford for @NationalHways.
Sometimes the simplest visual cues have the biggest effect.
A good example? Cows jumping over a white line painted on a road. While drivers are clearly not cows, we also respond to visual cues.
