Student Activities has had the opportunity the past few semesters to go into the classroom and lead students through a series of personality assessments and team building activities to foster better leaders on the hill. Congrats to all the students who completed phase 1!
We wanted to highlight the students in the LEAD 200 classes who completed Phase 1 of the Dynamic Leadership Institute this semester. We are thankful for this ongoing partnership between Student Activities and the School of Leadership and Professional Studies.
Students celebrated their final session with food and a padfolio gift to use in future job interviews and conferences. Congratulations to all students who completed phase 3!
Last night, students in Phase 3 of the Dynamic Leadership Institute presented their community service projects and cultural engagement experiences. In phase 3, leaders use what they have learned about themselves to apply leadership in action in their communities.
Our Rising Leaders Program aims to empower first-generation students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences they need to become confident and effective leaders. Registration could include access to paid internships, professional development, and pathway to future employment.
The Kentucky Chamber Foundation is excited to announce that the Rising Leaders program, designed to support first-generation college students, is now open for student registration!

This semester, students in phase 4 also participated in mock interviews, resume building, financial literacy sessions, and created a final portfolio.

Last night, WKU students participating in Dynamic Leadership Institute phase 4 had their etiquette dinner at 440 Main. This session of phase 4 repares students for all aspects of professionalism, including dinner etiquette.
The afternoon involved community service with Hand in Hand Ministries where students cleaned up a community garden in Portland and began landscaping for the spring.

This past Saturday, WKU students traveled with the Student Activities office to Louisville for the 2024 Multicultural Retreat. Students started the day by taking a historical tour of West Louisville in the Portland, Shawnee, Parkland, and Chickasaw neighborhoods. (1/3)
