After two days of intense debate, courageous resolutions, and the historic adoption of the Berlin Manifesto, we close this General Assembly united in our shared purpose: to strengthen and expand the global struggle against dictatorships in all their forms.

We also entrust this mission to a renewed leadership, electing:
-Felix Maradiaga as President (@maradiaga)
-Shukria Barakzai as Vice President (@ShukryaBarakzai)
-Carine Kanimba as Secretary General (@ckanimba)
-Andrei Sannikov as Ombudsperson (@A_Sannikov)
-Chemi Lhami as Spokesperson (@choosechemi),
as well as the new Leadership Council representing the five regions of our organization.

Together—with the moral clarity of our cause, the bravery of survivors, and the solidarity of democrats everywhere—we leave Berlin not as the end of a convening, but as the beginning of a new, stronger chapter in the fight for freedom.

Meet Natacha Abingeneye — a Rwandan human rights activist and civic organizer based in Belgium, committed to democracy, justice, and peaceful dialogue. As former President of Jambo ASBL, she helped mobilize the Rwandan diaspora around civic participation and engagement on the future of Rwanda, while promoting dialogue, justice, and reconciliation in the Great Lakes region.

From exile, @NAbingeneye continues to advocate for fundamental freedoms and the right of Rwandans to participate in shaping their country’s future. Her work reflects a belief that lasting democratic change requires citizen engagement, accountability, and the courage to confront difficult questions of memory, justice, and reconciliation.

Meet Hesam Misaghi — an Iranian pro-democracy activist and digital freedom advocate dedicated to human rights, equality, and breaking through the barriers of censorship. As a member of the Bahá’í community, he experienced Iran’s systemic discrimination firsthand, including being expelled from university because of his faith.

Forced to leave Iran after facing persecution, @hsmsgh turned his experience into action. Today, he works to expand digital freedom and build independent technological infrastructure that helps Iranians access information and connect beyond state censorship—using technology as a powerful tool in the fight for freedom.
