Went for a walk and to feed the swans. Thought I'd come across a dead cygnet on its back in the undergrowth then noticed it was breathing and wrapped in fishing line.

Cygnet that had been evicted by parents relocated to canal today after it had been wandering the streets.

membership to the angling trust with fish legal as a club is going to cost £330 this year

There is also yearly lease of water and a lockup nearby to store equipment for events and tools for work party etc

I have created a not for profit PayPal business account to make donations more user friendly.
£300 has been raised through the crowd funder so far and after their cut we currently have £289.92 in the cic bank account.

To do this I need to keep applying for all the funding pots available (once the lease is finalised) and rely on donations (hopefully more will come as things progress and people see positive change)

@Hyosube I've been made aware from another bailiff that these heavy metal lures are being used in a common poaching method called 'long lining'.
Long lining they normally cast a heavy weight with hooks attached and drag across hoping to foul hook fish.

Seen a post on local wildlife group about a cygnet tangled in line.
Took me a while to locate them and it didn't look like it was caught in line, then I noticed the lure stuck to its leg. Called rspca, gave details and location but I wasn't sure when they would show up.

Between poolstock locks and moss Bridge.
I posted about the Balsam last year in the same place and now it's worse.... And it's still not getting mowed.
