Keke Palmer reflects on MOTHERHOOD and having her son, Leo, with her BD, Darius Jackson, revealing that she wanted a child and felt like he would make a good dad. She also revealed that she had considered the worst-case scenario of them not working out before having a child with him, and in the end, they still didn’t work out💔
“I think for me one of the good things with having kids has always been like, i think as a woman, it’s like you gotta want the kid period, regardless of the situation with the guy, this is your baby, this is your responsibility”
“I was 28 turning 29 and i was like now is the time where i would feel comfortable with this, and i would always go worst case scenario if we don’t work out how will i feel about this decision and so i decided to have my kid and we didn’t work out”
Marc put a question to the group: Whitney, Mariah, Mary or Janet, one of these superstars has to go, with their whole catalog .
Ice and Joe said Mariah could go, but Marc picked Whitney. Then when asked which songs they couldn't live without, Ice and Joe doubled down on keeping Whitney. She has so many songs they need in their lives.
Joe said he'd be fine never hearing another Mariah song, but Whitney has songs he has to hear. That changed Emanny's mind, and he sided with Ice and Joe.
Marc said it's the opposite for him. There are plenty of Mariah songs he can't live without, including the Christmas one.
Then Marc asked who has the biggest gap between her talent and her catalog. His answer was Whitney. Her talent is bigger than what her catalog shows.
Marc also admitted he listened to "Breakdown" by Mariah with Bone Thugs a lot. Joe played it, and the whole cast ended up clowning Marc for it.
JAY-Z was asked if he was ever the “betrayer”… he said never consciously or with malice, but if a friend does something that gets them demoted, then that’s another story.
He uses his late friend Irv Gotti as an example of feeling betrayed & then retaliating. Irv allowed Ja Rule to diss Jay, & Irv was going to sign Nas at the height of their beef. Jay also said he would still do anything for Irv & even helped him secure a TV deal with BET. (This was filmed before Irv passed)
“I don’t have ‘street credibility’… I’m from the streets.”
JAY-Z talks about the song that changed everything for him “Hard Knock Life”. He says OG Juan wasn’t sure about it, & Lyor Cohen said Jay shouldn’t release the song because it would ruin his “street credibility” 😒
JAŸ-Z being in awe of Beyoncé as he talks about the difference between his recording process & hers:
"My wife's recording process is wild.
She'll find some amazing harmonies & she'll stack that 30, 40, 50 times just to find that right thing. She'll try anything."
