@HiBinKay Cuz it was made for the monthly contest on unGenerated io, the theme was "Your OC in an alternate universe", I started working more actively on this art when there were 13 days left, but laziness made it til 11 hours, which is y the art's quality, except for the cat, is just shit

@artbyabyst I see! And those soft and sharp edges are just the default brush and a wonky blur effect 😄 You didn't say anything bad, actually, I'm glad I'm managing to pull off cool effects

I didn't get into excessive detail, so if smth looks odd, it's a 'habit' carried over from traditional art - since you always view paintings from a distance. It was a practice for drawing human in a shaded area.

Modeling shadows in digital art is SO HARD! :[
I spent 3 hours specifically on this forearm muscle...
Could the problem be the lack of tablet and stylus, like ones popular artists use? :/
If an experienced digital artist sees this post, I'd be happy to receive some critique

@Nihua4baw Thanks! I was working on art with black cat. At 1st I used impasto brushstrokes (the way I do in traditional art), but then I thought I’d try smth different and used the smudge tool in IbisPaint - only to realize that this cat lost its form. But I didn't pay much attention to it
