@ABA774374481544@The__Goomba Yeah, I probably should've read the article first but in my mind, I interpreted the original reasoning as "We want to give the fans what they paid for." π
@The__Goomba I got it off VGC for $30 because I had some leftover credit.
No way I'd go digital code for a major Nintendo game, let alone a launch title.
@TheSwitchForce We basically need to play the long game and wait for Nintendo to run out of 3rd party ports / Switch 2 editions. Eventually things will even out and we'll hopefully start getting more 1st party games again.
@BeatemupsWood I'm cool with remakes but they eventually have to stop with the Nintendo Switch 2 editions. Not every game needs one.
Xenoblade definitely needed it though.
@JTShine86 Nintendo has switched strategies this generation:
Instead of releasing a plethora of great 1st party games, they're doing the same for 3rd parties and hope that it's enough to get people to buy a Switch 2.
@TheSwitchForce Yeah, Switch 2 has been pretty lackluster with the 1st party games. Some good ones for sure but definitely lacking compared to the Switch 1 era.
My prediction is that we'll almost certainly get a new Mario game next holiday and at some point a Kirby game.
@InfernoOmni False. A general Nintendo Direct should have more 1st party games than Zelda and Xenoblade.
I like those series but when a Direct has more 3rd party titles than 1st party, it's just a longer Partner showcase disguised as a general Direct.
