@aliveandwe1070@ESPNsoccer Not even there yet. Wait until we have a country that has crazed fans giving out death threats and harass squad and opponents families.
@FabrizioRomano No they looked better with ten men against Mexico. Then again Mexico had a terrible game plan up a man.
There was no control without the ball. Arg was finding space. England welcomed it and looked uncomfortable. The dam finally broke after all that pressure. Cracks were there
@0xErod@Nicocantor1 Unfortunately in real time, refs get conned. Are you asking FIFA to change the rules and review every "foul" to check for simulation? The ref reviewed it and saw that there was a clear dive. In real time, he did not see it that way.
@tombogert@JasonKerepesi@TheAthletic That wouldve been the third obvious foul on Embolo. That's persistent infringement. Didn't matter who "fouled" Embolo or how. They would've gotten that yellow regardless.
FIFA needs to make those decisions less subjective. Tielemans got his foot in front of Pulisic and got kicked. Kane goes to kick the ball away but the attacker put his foot in first. Spence puts his leg in the way of Bobb and draws contact.
@nycsiciliano10@starsnstripesfc What's embarrassing is that our domestic academies barely contributed any meaningful new players in this cycle. This is why we need to rely on dual nationals.
@doormatt26@BayernAusBoston I don't think that's the right comparison. There's a physical profile for those players. Even if they have never played a game in their life, those skills can still be developed in their late teens. How many world class soccer players start the sport in their teens?
@howaboutafresca It's those moments of self sabotage that show that we are way behind. We had our preferred starting XI and showed he didn't have the creativity/ability to progress the ball once we had possession. We were uncomfortable in possession
If the 4 goals were flukes then I would agree.
