@JoyAnnReid One thing that the news isn’t saying is that many of these are people who live in areas served by electric cooperatives where they do not have a choice. The only plan is variable. And again, disproportionately low income and/or POC.

@neoliberal_dad Saw an estimate of over 7k for my son’s bill one day. He lives in a maybe 1200 sq ft home within an electric cooperative where they do not have a choice of plans. His power cycled off and on several times and he kept thermostat at 65.

As one who has spent a lifetime working in social service, I’ve seen first hand that we are all different and not all are made to be of service to others. Cruz obviously is not and can’t teach them.

@WEARTHEMASKDUH @dirtdrummer @DanRather Honestly torn on that. Yes, it would be good to understood service but as a parent, I was too overprotective and it’s been dangerously cold. His kids are preteens. I’m lucky mine are grown so didn’t have to face this with that burden and feel horrible for the parents who did.

@MichaelCorson19 @DanRather Historically Texas is a republican stronghold and is in the Bible Belt. Doesn’t matter what you DO as long as you SAY you’re republican and christian, you’ll win. This is changing. The metro areas are turning blue. Next election will be interesting.
