We are excited to share that last week we kicked off the video-making process for the WO-NAM database of oral history interviews with women active on the left during the Cold War. Together with SMK Factory, we interviewed Castellina, Ada Donno, and Giancarla Codrignani. More soon
The WO-NAM fieldwork in India has been truly inspirational. We visited many libraries in Delhi and Mumbai to explore the connections between women's movements and Non-Alignment. We also conducted interviews with leading feminist scholars and activists, including Prof. Devaki Jain
In Cairo we carried out oral history interviews with different activists. We also visited the Aziza Hussein collections at the American University of Cairo, as well as the Women and Memory Forum. Sarah Nagaty is exploring AUC's collections and carrying out more interviews.
Together with the fellows Giulio Fugazzotto and Sarah Nagaty PI Chiara Bonfiglioli conducted fieldwork research in Tunis and Cairo between the 14th of November and the 2nd of December.
In Tunis we carried out oral history interviews with relatives of UNFT leaders, ATFD activists, and visited the UNFT collections of the National Archives. Giulio Fugazzotto is currently exploring UNFT press sources and audiovisual archives and carrying out further interviews.
The WO-NAM team had a first fantastic team meeting and workshop in Pula with our colleagues at @CentarKPIS. Thanks to Igor Duda, Andrea Matošević, and Boris Koroman for having us!
