If you want to be the reason your team loses a playoff series, come play for the Iowa Hawkeyes!
@JayhawkTakeover Imagine if your $$$ team had only one amazing post player and he got hurt this bad. I know it’s hard to picture that in your palace with a slew of other 5*s waiting in the wings as backups. Not even in the neighborhood as comparisons.
All of a sudden every Iowa fan in the state is acting like a die hard men’s basketball fan. Ben McCollum talked before the season and said, “be there consistently, not just when the team is good.” Iowa fans are the most bandwagon and fair weather fans in the nation.
One of the most under-appreciated #MarchMadness buzzer beaters & upsets was 14-seed Northwestern State over 3-seed Iowa in 2006.
It's the perfect version of both occurrences, with pandemonium afterwards. Not shown nearly enough!
No. This is the stupidest rule in sports. There’s zero basketball reason that a timeout should advance the ball. It’s an entertainment prop and I hate it. Imagine the NFL saying “if you call a timeout before the kickoff you’ll get the ball at the opponent’s 35.” Dumb.
Imagine getting emotional because you love the NCAA Tournament selection show so much and it's your favorite hour of the entire calendar year. That would probably be a sign of a huge loser, right?
@JayhawkTalk Know your complaint here. Refs everywhere are told to let an official not involved with the play dish out the T. But carry on with KU whining.
@CycloneDave69 These comments always make me laugh. So if the call isn’t “good” the coaches have every right to throw a temper tantrum and berate a fellow human being. Makes sense.
OTD, 1999:
Marcus Fizer's dunk in the final minute provided the winning margin in ISU's 52-50 victory over Kansas (the first of 5 in a row for the Cyclones over the Jayhawks). The game aired on CBS, with Gus Johnson and Dan Bonner on the call.
@hayseedmike Did you know that he, unlike 90% of all other NCAA D1 bb players, can dribble between a couple guys and jump in the air to make a layup?!? Incredible!!!
Yes, over 80 pts/game and #10 in fg% is “not very good on offense” 😹😹😹
And apparently you know more than any coach in history who always say D wins championships…
@TravisHines21 Iowa state is not very good on offense , defense can only carry you so far. BYU is down several of their starters and beating rhe lights out of this team
