WoodenKey makes input devices for Apple's Vision OS. Our first product, the WoodenKey (TM) Keyboard, is a computer keyboard, to enter text from your Vision Pro.
WoodenKey Story
This is the story of WoodenKey LLC.
In November of 2020, my muse left. I had not realized before then how dependent on was on it. I couldn’t work. At all. So I retired.
Here it is three years and five months later, and my muse has returned, with an idea for a billion dollar company (revenue/year).
WoodenKey came from thinking about Apple’s new Vision Pro virtual reality headset. It needs input devices, for a 10-year-out future where a pair of glasses are your only phone and computer. WoodenKey will provide “props”, which it recognizes as keyboards or musical instruments, and provides input just by tapping your hands on the prop.
I am working now on prototyping a laptop keyboard, from a thin plank of cherry wood. With a little machining by Dremel Tool, I should be able to make a usable touch-typing device.
@EricLDaugh The EO defers payment of federal diesel taxes for three months, if the treasury secretary determines that it is necessary. DEFERS, not eliminates.

@mcclayusa@GBC_Press From one cult to another. Not that Christianity isn't a cult. I intoned "la illaha Ilallah Hu", on every breath, for years. I learned that it means "there is only love". The name you use doesn't matter. Allah, G-d, Ahuramazda, nature, God, Jesus. Love is all there is.
@r0ck3t23 The difference is life. The difference is love. The difference is God. Beyond rational thought. Always out of reach of AI. But AI is a good tool, with which to carry out the muse's gift.
@ohmyheckjerry@PeteHegseth No idea. If the corruption has rotted the military that deeply, it's already game over. At least hope it isn't yet that far gone, and that good seamen will eliminate the bad.
Serpico may want a word with me, to dissuade me from my optimistic nature, but hey, I'm an American.
Jony Ive recounts the time Steve Jobs called him vain
Jony recounts the time he asked Steve Jobs to be less harsh in his critique of a piece of work.
When Steve asked “why?”, Jony replied: “Well, because I care about the team.”
Steve then said, as Jony puts it, “this brutally, brilliantly, insightful thing”:
“No Jony, you’re just really vain. You just want people to like you. And I’m surprised at you because I thought you really held the work up as the most important—not how you believe you are perceived by other people.”
Jony reflects on the remark:
“I was terribly cross because I knew he was right.”

X Pro appears to have disappeared. Hopefully, this is only temporary. I may stop paying X if it goes away, though my primary reason for paying them is to get long posts. Once I finish https://t.co/CZJPeTBa0Z, I'll likely move lots of my textual output to blogging, and only link to those posts here.
@justinryanio Apple has yet to face the fact that reducing the size and weight and price of the Vision Pro enables it to be your ONLY computing device.
Got an Adafruit case for a new Raspberry Pi 5. It talks to mouse and keyboard via USB-A, and my TV as display via HDMI connection over radio link. Boots from a 512-gigabyte USB-C drive, plugged into one of the fast USB-A ports. Elm is now a standard apt install. Emacs has been standard on Linux for decades. I have not yet tried compiling one of my Elm webapps on the Raspberry Pi, but everything is set up to try that in the morning.
The Pi is the small rectangular box on top of the piano keyboard in the first photo below. The second photo is a screen shot, taken right after my first boot.
