Real Democrats organizing Woonsocket. We believe in accountable gov, fighting for working families, a just transition & a Green New Deal, & true justice for all
This is despicable! We call on every Democratic member of the Woonsocket City Council to vote against Councilwoman Gonzalez. Fellow Woonsocket residents, please contact your city councilors (info in the thread below).
It hurt me to write this.
We **cannot** allow another anti-LGBTQ, anti-choice conservative to be elevated into Woonsocket City Council leadership, and eventually to state office like Jon Brien was. Please share far and wide.
And Woony folks, read below:

Yesterday, an 80-year-old voted for the first time in her life - for me.
Yesterday, a voter brought her son to vote for the first time.
Yesterday, so many voted because they knew I would fight for them. Am fighting for them.
We lost this battle. But we're winning the fucking war
And City Committee:
Marlene Guay
Jennie Kithes
Thomas Dubois
Jeanine Giguere-Gagnon
Nick Prymak
Georgia Young
Charmaine Webster
Janice Colerick
Alex Kithes
Taylor Webster
Dawn Bouley
Ryan Brown
Bradley Mechlenbacher
Caol Bresnahan
Woonsocket voters, please vote for our #WoonsocketDemocrats team:
Alex Kithes for State Rep, District 49
Marlene Guay for State Rep, District 51
Alex Kithes and Jennie Kithes for State Committeeman and woman
If you're in District 49, vote for everyone on this placard (the Democratic party offices are people I'm running alongside who will actually fight for our community). If you're elsewhere in Woonsocket, just vote for the right half!
Important article from @OptionsMag about the homophobia from my primary opponent as brought to light by community members. This is not OK. We need someone in District 49 who will fight for the LGBTQ+ community.

🚨🚨Big News🚨🚨
I'm incredibly excited to announce that I've been endorsed by @OurRevolution! The fight to transform our political and economic system into one that prioritizes working families is central to my organizing work. I'm happy to be in this fight with Our Revolution!
.@RepPhillips51 voted against marriage equality. He voted against my right to get married, because for some reason he believes that his wrong personal views should trump the rights of his constituents and LGBTQ+ people around RI.
Bob is not a Democrat. Vote for @MarleneforRI!
It's been brought to my attention that my primary opponent has been using this type of homophobic rhetoric against me while talking to voters.
This is the shit I deal with. I expect it from the extremists in our city government, but I'm appalled that he's using the same tactics.
.@RepPhillips51 isn't a real Democrat. He made a point to help trump get on the 2020 ballot, and has left his district unrepresented in the State House. Vote for @MarleneforRI to put a real Democrat in the seat for District 51!
@RepPhillips51@alexkithes I remember @RepPhillips51 so happy to show up for the local republicans and gleefully sign the nomination papers in 2020 for Donald Trump to be on the ballot, expressing his support. It’s funny that an avid Trump supporter is trying to gatekeep what makes someone a #democrat.
Two of the most central beliefs of the Democratic Party are support for choice in abortion and support for the LGBTQ+ community. Between this ugly homophobia at voters' doors, and his backing by Right to Life, Glenn Dusablon fails in both areas.
Democrats should not support him.

Geez, if the Phillips' really think that Bob votes the way his constituents want, they must have a really low view of them.
But as a former city councilor who **actually** represented that area of Woonsocket I can say for certain that Rep Phillips has no idea what the people want
Our campaign video just dropped! District 49 needs a People's Champion, someone who's willing to fight for us in the State House

Had an incredible time at our canvass event yesterday! Started off with me, @MarleneforRI, @Cynthia_Mendes_, and @mattbrownRI talking about why we need a #WholeNewGovernment, and then I got to knock doors with the one and only @Cynthia_Mendes_. Voters are **so** ready for change!
Our Woonsocket Democrats - @alexkithes and @MarleneforRI - were among the slate of amazing candidates endorsed by One Fair Wage! It's time for a $19 minimum wage, including for tipped workers!
One Fair Wage Action endorsed a full slate of candidates who are part of a growing movement in Rhode Island of primarily working class peoples running for office. #raisethewage#onefairwage@UpriseRI

This guy - pink shorts and completely soaked - knocks your door and wants to make sure you have healthcare, housing, a living wage, and a livable climate. What do you do?
"He is intelligent, articulate and unafraid to face a challenge. He is exactly who we need representing this District!"

Community Care Alliance
Guess I'm the only candidate for House District 49 not endorsed by right to life??
Proud to stand in solidarity with the pro-choice, reproductive justice movement.
Codification was vital but only the first step: we need to pass the EACA now!

Canvass highlight of the evening, for someone who has served over a decade in the Statehouse the majority of people I canvass do not know who he is nor anything he has done. People are really tired of the silent Bob treatment.
Our community knows *exactly* what we need (all from today's conversations):
🏘Affordable homes
💵$19 min wage
📚Fully funded public schools
⚕️#Medicare4All & covered dental, mental, & abortions
🏳️🌈LGBTQ+ protections
🚆A #GreenNewDeal
And someone who'll actually fight for it ⤵️
