The National Multiple Sclerosis Society works to cure #MS while empowering people affected by MS to live their best lives. #MS is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system. #MultipleSclerosis https://t.co/cu3Om8zlce
As a physician who has served patients for 35 years, I am sickened by the unconscionable practices of health insurance companies that continually place profits above patient care.
Prior authorization, in particular, is being abused to prop up profits and deny care to those who need it.
In 340B, tax-exempt hospital systems buy discounted drugs, mark them up by as much as 1,000% or more and bill patients and insurers the list price.

Good morning everyone. As you navigate life's challenges, remember that every experience holds a valuable lesson waiting to be uncovered. Through loss, we can gain wisdom and emerge stronger and more resilient. Even in the darkest moments, God’s greater purpose is at work. #ms
Many men are taught to "man up," push through and tackle life's struggles alone. When MS makes that impossible, guilt can follow.
Real strength comes from respecting your limits and accepting support when you need it.
Wearable devices may be the next frontier in tracking MS progression.
Tools like accelerometers can detect subtle signs of progression that traditional assessments miss, which can lead to speedier treatments and improvements in care and daily life.

Pain today might feel like a moment of discomfort to finish one last thing, avoid canceling plans or stay longer at work.
Tomorrow, it might return as a flare-up, stiffness or lost mobility. Pain isn't something to defeat, it's a sign to rest, slow down and ask for support.
We strongly support MI SB914, sponsored by @stephanielily, to ensure #allcopayscount toward out-of-pocket costs for #Rx. By passing this bill, MI will join 26 states, DC, & Puerto Rico in protecting #patients from harmful #insurer practices: https://t.co/8E69eErGvU
As Psalm 33:12 reminds us, blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.
Last night I joined colleagues on the House Floor to recognize the National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise, and Thanksgiving.
It is undeniable that large health care corporations have added multiple layers of complexity, driving up costs for everything from prescription medications to doctor visits.
"I never believed that motherhood and MS could coexist. But now, I see how beautifully they can — and how much strength, joy, and clarity this chapter of life has brought me."

Good morning everyone. As we start a new week, let's focus on nurturing our own growth and well-being. Prioritizing yourself is not selfish, it's essential to living a fulfilling life. Wishing you all a day filled with purpose and a week that brings positive change. #ms
Fernando Mendoza knows what really matters.
As the #1 draft pick, he skipped the live ceremony to celebrate at home with his mom, Elsa, whose MS makes travel difficult.
The biggest moments are about who you share them with. Watch the full story from @NBCNews:
In her mother Eleanore's manuscript about life with MS in the mid 20th century, Julie Kerns Golin found inspiration and courage.
As relevant today as they were 65 years ago, Eleanore's experiences echo the quiet strength of so many women who live with MS.

MS can be unpredictable and often means living with uncertainty, but planning ahead may alleviate stress later.
