New studios for 12 artists displaced from Workspace Limited, SOMA Artists Studios, SFAI residencies, and live/work. #SanFrancisco. @artspansf #OpenStudios
In other words, her ability to depict a scene visually does not draw attention to itself, and one is left with an impression of being transported to another place, looking at a scene of beauty with the fresh eyes of an artist.
Here's another Workspace artist introduction: our globetrotting, plein air watercolorist, Laurie Wigham (https://t.co/MX8nvNXrRC)!
Laurie has a background in graphic design and illustration. Seven years ago, she organized the SF Sketchers Meetup.
The mellow washes that blend seas with skies and distant hills may be pale or dark, but they retain a luminous brilliancy of color and light. However, Laurie's skills with watercolors do not overpower her ability to draw one into the world of her painting.
Workspace artist introduction: Inga Poslitur (https://t.co/6xgmIKV5tz)
Inga is one of the most highly skilled artists in our studio. When she is not traveling, she splits her time between teaching art at San Jose State, and making exquisite paintings in her studio space.
Inga's studio is one of the best spots in the building. She gets natural light from two directions, she has windows that overlook our common space, and she has a view of the historic streetcar maintenance area at the MUNI station next to us.
We had a potluck party last night in the studio, and it was so great to be together and share some truly delicious food. Our own Laurie Wigham also painted sketches of all of us!
It was a good way to end the year: nourishing our little artists’ community. ❤️
