Happy Canadian Multiculturalism Day! 🇨🇦🎉
This day recognizes the rich mix of cultures, languages and traditions that shape communities across the country and help make Canada stronger.

Canada’s founding insight is that unity does not require uniformity. This is neither myth nor miracle, but a series of choices, made imperfectly, across generations.
On Canadian Multiculturalism Day, we celebrate the diversity that defines our national character:

Canada is a mosaic, not a melting pot. A mosaic doesn’t dissolve its pieces. The beauty is in the arrangement, not the blending.
On this #CanadianMulticulturalismDay, we celebrate the diverse communities whose contributions continue to build a strong and vibrant Canada.

June is National Indigenous History Month, an opportunity to learn more about the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. Our city is located on the unceded and unsurrendered Territory of the Anishinabe Algonquin Nation, whose presence on this land stretches back countless generations. Throughout the month, I encourage you attend events across Ottawa, visit local exhibits, hear Indigenous voices, and learn more about the communities that have cared for and stewarded this land for generations.
