Last night, our long-range sanctions once again reached the Moscow region – for the second time this week, the Moscow oil refinery was hit. Targets were also struck in the Rostov region and in temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. This is a fully justified response to Russian attacks on our cities and communities, and another important result of our warriors’ work against facilities that sustain Russia’s war machine. I thank our Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine for their coordinated efforts – the Security Service of Ukraine, the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Special Operations Forces, Defense Intelligence, and our missile brigade for their precision.
In recent days, all of our partners have noted the precision and effectiveness of our mid-range strikes and long-range sanctions. It is time the war ended, and Russia must take the necessary steps in diplomacy.
Spectacular explosion in the Kapotnya refinery in Moscow, Russia. This silo not only exploded but also catapulted the roof of the building into the air.
We are all so conditioned to a daily avalanche of bad news.
So here’s some good news!! Ukraine is not only carrying out successful operations in temporarily occupied territories, but it is also creating fuel shortages across Russia while disrupting the logistics that sustain Moscow’s genocidal war.
Happy Saturday 💙💛 https://t.co/pRlZlw7jBN
Putin sent Abramovich to Kyiv to beg Zelensky to hand him a victory in Donbas. He hasn’t been able to achieve a single strategic objective, & his very own survival depends on being able to sell a victory to the population.
Zelensky said, fuck you, not my problem.
Yes, definitely, and without any beating around the bush: Putin has deteriorated significantly, and he continues to weaken in plain sight.
He used to appear in public as a cold, psychopathic, cynical, cruel, treacherous, and calculating predator, always wearing that smug little sadistic grin. Now, month after month, he is increasingly descending into outright buffoonery and farce.
He is drowning in his own childish giggling, awkward antics, and crude off-color jokes. He now routinely blurts out poorly thought-out nonsense straight from the top of his head, which contradicts itself and even the mainstream narrative of his own propaganda machine. It's almost as if Donald Trump bit him. As a result, he now constantly shocks his own officials and Russia's Z-fascists on Telegram.
He keeps making mistakes. He keeps absorbing painful public blows from Zelensky. He keeps allowing himself to be backed into corners.
I don't know exactly what it is. Maybe age is finally taking its toll. Maybe accumulated exhaustion. Maybe a growing, reluctant realization that things are not going well in the war against Ukraine, that the prospects ahead promise nothing good, that a certain threshold has been crossed beyond which Russia will no longer be able to break Ukraine, and that only the countdown remains to the most terrifying thing of all: the eventual acknowledgment of failure.
And so the Kremlin war machine (and the dictator's own veins) are filling with nervousness, frantic activity, denial of reality, impulsive decisions, palace intrigues, and a growing loss of control. Add to that the recent setbacks in Syria, Hungary, Moldova, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.
Most likely, it's all of the above.
Because you can puff out your chest, pound your fist, issue threats, and project as much small-dick-energy bravado as you want, but against the backdrop of devastating Ukrainian strikes on Russia's oil industry -- and now on its military and fuel logistics -- Putin nevertheless authorized Roman Abramovich's trip to Kyiv.
The thing is, the old Putin probably would never have bragged about something like that in public or signaled to everyone that beneath all the swagger, laughter, and bravado, he had blinked first.
No good news for the Russians.
By refusing President Zelenskyy’s offer for direct peace talks, Putin lost his chance to get out of his failed war.
Things will only get worse for Russia. Battlefield losses will continue to grow. Failures will get more humiliating.
The economy will plunge deeper into recession. More jobs will be lost, taxes will be growing, and inflation will hit those most vulnerable.
There are already no safe places in Russia that can be exempt from Ukraine’s long-range sanctions. But their intensity will continue to grow.
The international pressure will not ease. It will only get stronger. Including the use of frozen assets, travel bans, and inevitable accountability for crimes.
All of this because the fanatic in the Kremlin wants to keep in power at any cost and is ready to sacrifice his country’s future and kill millions of people for his insane delusions.
All of this because he doesn’t want to admit a simple truth: he will never achieve his goals on the battlefield and he better abandon his delusional hopes of Ukraine collapsing soon, support from its partners waning, or pressure on Russia easing.
Russia will still have to accept a diplomatic solution but the terms will be far worse.
Putin’s refusal of peace should lead to a significant increase in international pressure on Russia and support for Ukraine.
“Briefly reviewed” means he read every word of it and his minions read every word. He was stung most by the vanity comments, but he is not talking about how he feels scared of his inner circle killing him.
🥴 Putin said he briefly reviewed Zelensky's letter this morning.
Commenting on Zelensky's mention of his age, he noted that some world leaders are "older."
UNITED24 ambassador @chefjoseandres sported the Team Ukraine football jersey on Jimmy Kimmel Live with an important message: “No civilian should ever be bombed!”
Thank you for your support and for standing with Ukraine💙💛
