Hi Hika @dongsichend, the key is to read slowly and let yourself be bored sometimes. I annotate, mark difficult words, or sometimes just read it out loud to understand it better. Are you interested in reading classics?
Hello, @remesmerise. Yes, I do think that reading can improve our writing. Reading can extend our vocabularies and hone our sense in understanding structure and write better. As a writer myself, whenever I feel stuck, I’ll spend more time just to read more. And it helps.
@muncorner Definitely into reading and enjoy discussing literature and social issues as well! May I ask what piece of writing you consider a masterpiece?
Hi @folkmourn, ah I’m reading East of Eden right now actually. And for the light read.. I’d recommend “Lie with Me” by Phillipe Benson. It’s a queer story, and the language is easy but not a happy ending one and kinda tragic.
@muncorner it’s been a while since i llast got myself a book. the last one i read was ‘east of eden’. i’m looking for one or two recommendations and i’m open to any genre! would you mind lending me a hand? maybe something light to read over the weekend? thank you in advance!
I fell asleep. Terus kebangun karena diketok tetangga buat mindahin mobil. Berujung parkir mengandalkan muscle memory karena kaget dan kelupaan pake kacamata. Mata rabun guaa.
