@FPSKivotos@KingSavageAxe I think Project Aces internally calls it "focus mixing", and I remember hearing them talk about it a bit in this dev diary! https://t.co/AZHKn6T839
@FeristalJ I was gonna change the settings a bit after mission 1, but thought about how much time Ryo Watanabe usually spends on the sound balance. Decided that it's anti-art and and didn't do it because feeling the abject fear and overstimulation is def his vision and who am I to question
@KitsuneSqueak@Schmullus1@BardenLyze If you're using UPS by the way, then making an account lets you see all packages coming to your address. Mine hasn't been delivered yet but Bandai only sent me one tracking number, when there's actually two packages listed on the UPS app for me!
@aratakipilled@Vioblur@douzedouze12127 80% in college is pretty good but assuming from their age, they are talking about high school. I only have a very US specific perspective, but in HS you have to be getting pretty much perfect scores in order to stand out enough for admission into T50 universities.
@Kyvlash@neokuudere https://t.co/R9qQ771tlk actually isn't even the first one, and it won't be the last. It's why torrent websites change their domain so much, because as soon as one gets taken down they just make a new one with the same exact data as the old one.
@Kyvlash@neokuudere Torrent websites can't really get taken "down" in that sense, since all of the files are decentralized. The website itself is just a database of hashes, so if it ever gets taken down someone can easily host a new mirror with the same exact content as the old one. (1/2)
@pmdreamballoon @callsignDuster It's so anti-art because why do they think there's some kind of weird ceiling for how good a video game can be, after which you have to switch mediums and make movies to improve farther?
@EldritchHorror3@Tsukiya_a The later volumes are so good but it's probably so hard to adapt them as well right? Iirc it's a ton of internal monologues and struggles for pretty much everyone, but man would it all be so difficult but incredible if it got animated.
@voidcallsreaper project aces tweeting "2 months left" this morning scared me SO bad, had to go count the days myself to convince myself i wasn't crazy...
The problem with any discussion about K-12 education in the US (and just to use you as an example sorry), is that each of the 50 states have their own individual education curriculums. Like if you're in a school in some random Southern state they might not evet teach you that slavery existed ๐ญ.
Or the focus might have been on completely just regurgitating facts from readings instead of analyzing or questioning anything at all. So I really don't like assuming that someone just slacked off in classes and didn't learn, because a lot of the time they just didn't even have the opportunity to unfortunately.
Also I work at a school (not teaching, just IT) but it's crazy how different even neighboring school districts can be, because they're funded so heavily by property taxes. So what zipcode you're going to school in is another really really big factor in whether your teachers want you to learn and have the time to teach you, or if they're all completely underpaid and tired and overworked and on their last straw so they won't go out of their way to reach you anything (quite understandably ofc it's still a job for them and they have to survive too)...
@on_bicycle I'm starting a new job literally tomorrow that's such a big improvement over my grocery job, but I need to be out of the house by 6am. I've genuinely had the same sleep schedule as your for so long, that I can't even begin to imagine how I'll adjust...
@Aero_My_Plane@CaelBene@TouhouSniper98 Yeah I was gonna say, I haven't read it but the original VN goes into tons of detail about the actual mechanics of the magic involved right? Every time I go to the wiki for anything Fate related it amazes me how much detail there is.
Prefacing this as totally my personal opinion ofc, but I bought the game for the fact that it's an extraction shooter specifically when it came out, and because I ADORE the art direction so much. But because of my background, I see the PvE interactions as just a catalyst for facilitating really good PvP interactions. It's really really similar to how I view zombies in official Dayz, or scavs in Tarkov where I know I won't play either of those games without the PvP, even though a ton of time is actually spent fighting ai.
I personally have 140 hours on the game right now (not a lot by the standards of those still playing of course), but a lot of my friends stopped playing after season 1 because of the reset. It's something that's sad but absolutely not something I'll blame bungie for, because it's such an incredibly important thing to the genre. What did make me stop playing (at least temporarily for season 2) was how they handled the economy. I remember being so excited to play day 1 of this season and not being to because the servers were down. I played literally day 2 of the season, and in my first fight with someone they had purple shields. I just really wanted that early season 1 scrappy white shield fighting for at least a day even, and it felt like bungie was trying to make the game more "approachable" for the players free testing it or something?
I feel like every subsequent change this season has been geared towards attracting this hypothetical strawman player who exists and doesn't play the game, but will once they see the new PvE stuff that's being added? I know personal anecdotal experience is so unreliable, but out of my entire friend group that plays games not a single person has any desire to get into the game or get back into it for that reason. None of us are doing compiler or farming people on cryo, but I really feel like the fact that there are so few changes to the PvP experience of a live-service game of all things is probably the reason players are dropping.
People like me don't want to redo the same quests and fight with the exact same gear class as the end of the last season on the very start of this one, with one slightly reskinned map and no other changes. The reason I'm scared of all of the PvE exclusive development is of course I have freewill and can just not play it, but it really feels like Sony is giving this game 3 peanuts of budget with how it's performing, and 2 of said peanuts are going to a mode many won't touch.
Someone like Bandai might be altruistic honestly and still fund the game with few players, I'm just not sure Sony will. I really want this game to do good because the artists working on it are SO talented, so I really do hope that there are enough of these hypothetical PvE players who will keep the game afloat, because as unfortunate as it is, live service PvP games require so much effort and new content these days for people to not just move on to the next big thing, and it looks like they're doing exactly that every time I've seen the player count numbers mentioned. I know the numbers don't matter to enjoyment and the game is still so good, but I just don't know if the Sony execs wanting to generate the most shareholder value share that same sentiment and appreciation of art.
Sorry for writing so much, it's very sloppy and I need to go to work now but I just really wanted to get this in writing and hopefully I can QRT this in the future to other tweets, if it's legible enough.
