Just bike racks - Winnipeg bike racks. If it's the best thing to lock your bike to, it's a Wpg Bike Rack. Submissions encouraged, let us know where it is.
I have been spending most of my time on bluesky, and reckon it is time to start posting there as well. Feel free to @ me and I will be happy to repost if I can think of something funny to say.
Wpg Bike Rack 091 - Main at Bannatyne
I was out. No more posting, just happiness, locking my bike to whatever I could find -
and then I see 2 Wpg rack posts in one day.
Given Brent's credentials I am surprised he hadn't heard of my public art project, "Racks in Reflection."
Wpg Rack 090: Lombard at Main.
It's difficult to tell, but there may not be a bike rack here at all.
Perhaps one of these bicycles is supremely upright, a "stabil cykle" as the Danes call them.
Comforting. But if the stabil cykle were to disappear, what then?
Wpg Bike Rack 089: SaveOn Foods, Pembina
Placement is everything, folks. The Save On near my place has the same rack (Wpg rack 006 for those playing at home) but it's sandwiched up against a wall.
Props to whomever decided this should go against a pillar instead!
Wpg Bike Rack 088: Petro Can at Portage and Clifton.
Hitch your bike on one of these white thingers on the far side of the property.
Whatever, sure, why not?
Wpg Bike Rack 087: Sketchers, Polo Park.
A very long rack for only two bicycles. You could use this as an over-top lock, were it another couple feet from the wall.
There is so much room for it too!
Wpg Bike Rack SUMMER SPECIAL: Folk Fest.
Good on everyone who rolled on up to Bird's Hill!
There are so many bikes that any analysis of the racks themselves is impossible!
Wpg Bike Rack 086: Assiniboine Forest.
I've been trying to see more of the city lately, so we cycled to the forest for a little hike.
No bike racks tho, unless you count these things, which I do.
I have to, it's like the whole point of this account.
Wpg Bike Rack 085: Thom Bargen, Tuxedo.
Fun fact: this is a traditional unicycle rack, and not within the purview of this account.
@WPGuniracks operated for 6 years before it was shuttered due to lack of content. Things could have been different...
Wpg Bike Rack 084: Winnipeg Clinic
These poles are scary in two ways: often there is a bolt at the base that can be loosened to remove the pole - and then sometimes there is a really tall guy around who could just lift your bike over the top.
Luckily, both are easy to spot.
Wpg Bike Rack 083: Salisbury House, Parkdale and Portage.
From @Bee31Kay: "And in the category of 'E for effort'"
This is so close to the wall, I say, JUST PUT IT ON THE WALL.
You know, horizontal like...
Wpg Bike Rack number 082: Lucky Supermarket, McPhillips.
I'm guessing that this is just the old cart-return receptacle, but I'm actually impressed: it's solid, with a truly secure section on the end.
Also, it is very orange, if that's your thing.
Wpg Bike Rack #081: Mark's, Polo Park.
I visited these racks in January. Figured there would still be plenty of snow in February and you all wouldn't notice.
Deep down, I hope there might be a lil bit of snow left, nestled quietly amongst the strip mall bike racks.
Wpg Bike Rack #080: MTC.
Another venue, another INDOOR rack! This would have saved us taking 4 bike locks to the last production we saw there. While it is small, it's beautiful and I think one lock will suffice.
Bravo! Take a bow!
Let's get the year started with a so-so bike rack from a wonderful venue.
Why is it up on little blocks? If we're talking thematic then I'd reckon they're like little stage risers... I really do like the little nook though.
Wpg Bike Rack #079: West End Cultural Centre.
Welcome to 2024 in racks, friends! 2023 was a big year for this account: finding lots of new friends, fielding some media requests, and enjoying the nooks of the city that you've all shared with us.
Thanks for following, truly 1/
Wpg Bike Rack #078: Cineplex Junxion.
It's hard to overstate how great it is when you can hitch up right next to the entrance like this.

Went to see a movie with my mom tonight and had to share the bike racks at @CineplexMovies Junxion. They’re the perfect shape, well-spaced, reasonably plentiful (5-6 total), and most importantly—right beside the main door! Bravo. @WpgBikeRacks
