On April 9th, 2025, a nightclub collapsed in the middle of Santo Domingo killing over 250 people. This was the first time in their country that a mass casualty of this size occurred. BSOM students & Dr. Repas trained different entities in tactical med & mass casaulty management.
Recently EM resident Dr. Steven Repas went on a medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic with @WSUBoonshoftSOM medical students utilizing WSU EM TEMS equipment.
Today motivated WSU EM faculty and residents passionate about graduate medical education attended the Uniformed Services Faculty Bootcamp hosted at the Wright State University Student Union.
Yesterday the introductory ultrasound lab, with devices supported by EXO, Inc., provided crucial hours of hands on instruction for ultrasound guided peripheral IVs, EFAST, and Basic Echocardiography to 135 MS2s. Thanks to faculty, residents and MS4 students who helped.
Before the Holidays we started a clothing drive for Cindy's Closet at Miami Valley Hospital. We are making it an all year clothing drive. Donations can be dropped off at Christine's office at the residency program or at Cathy Herman's office at Miami Valley Hospital.
After over 18 years with our department, our Finance Coordinator Nancy Andrews has retired. We wish her all the best in her retirement. Congratulations Nancy!
