I agree that what the CIA did in 2014 in Ukraine is unfair and I want our government to stop overthrowing other country’s governments.

Zelensky reaffirmed today that he still wants the mineral deal so evidently he finds it fair enough.

As I said, I can understand why he’s upset.

But him getting upset isn’t helping his people, which is his job.

This wasn’t a time for him to get into public arguments about the past when he needs someone else’s help to fight a war that is happening on his soil.

His feelings are valid. And the cold reality is that he simply isn’t a strategic position that is powerful, and thus cannot afford to be antagonistic.

Unfortunately for him, he is dependent and needs to recognize that. No amount of empathy changes that fact.

It’s reasonable for him to think it’s unfair what happened in the past. You can even argue that Trump and Vance were unkind to him.

It doesn’t change his responsibility to master his emotions in the present - the stakes for his people are too high, not to mention the stakes for everyone else.
