A little late posting... Very happy to have a new poem in ONE ART. This poem took a while to write, and it took longer to be in a place where I was able to write it. Big thanks to Mark Danowsky for publishing!

June 28 was three years since my dad passed from ALS. Blue Bodies is out as a free PDF from @ghostcitypress. If you’re able, there's a donate button. Funds go to ALS United Greater NY—an org that supports families (they were a life raft for us) & also contributes to med research.

I realize I’ve been posting a lot about the unconstitutional ICE raids. Many white people, including famous poets, have been quick to tell me that maybe they are supporting the movement however, they just don’t post about it. I respect everyone’s right…you can obviously do what you want at the end of the day. But I think silence is clearly a privilege here. Brown folks don’t have the option of just not posting about it. Or keeping it for our diary. Our mothers fathers daughters friends colleagues are getting thrown into cages like animals. Silence is very clearly a privilege here…always remember that when you think to yourself, why does this guy keep posting about the same political issue. Maybe it’s because I’m sick and tired of thinking of folks like my father, who can’t go outside now, even though they have papers because of fear of brute and rogue agents, masked, with machine guns.. it is they who are the illegal bandits… May God protect us all bc the law ( from folks who supposedly like small government and states rights) seems arbitrary and rigged against brown folks & other immigrants of color.. my two cents…
